I trained as a Professional Makeup Artist over 20 years ago at The London College of Fashion where I completed a two year course in Design Fashion Styling for Hair & Makeup.  Since then I have specialised mainly in Wedding Makeup creating hundreds of looks for my beautiful Brides and their Bridal parties.  I have even worked my magic on a few Grooms!   I have won multiple awards for my Makeup skills including Best Makeup Artist at The Kent Wedding Awards in 2013 and Makeup Artist of the Year at The Kent Health & Beauty Awards in 2019.

I also specialise in creating Red Carpet inspired Special Occasion Makeup, Editiorial styled shoots, Personal Branding and Makeup lessons for groups and individuals.

How long have you been a Makeup Artist?

I have been a Professional Makeup Artist for 21 years.  I trained at The London College of Fashion for 2 years studying Design Fashion Styling for Hair & Makeup.

How do I make a booking?

You can contact Nicola via this website.  On making initial contact it is helpful if you could let me know the date & time of your wedding or special occasion, how many people will be requiring wedding day makeup and also the address of where you will be getting ready on the day.  Once I have all this information, I can then send you over a quotation.  If you decide to go ahead with the wedding makeup booking, I will then send you details of how to secure your date in my diary and make payment.

What happens at the Trial?

Trials normally take place at my house in Maidstone Monday - Friday between 9am and 3pm.  I usually allow up to 2 hours for a trial.  During this session I ask you to show me any makeup looks that you have found on Pinterest to give me an idea of the look you would like me to create.  We also take into account your colour theme, the style of your dress and hairstyle.  Once I have created a look that you are happy with I write everything down on a face chart for my files and I also let you know the shade of lipstick I have used so that you are able to purchase it for your wedding day.  I recommend having the trial 2-3 months before your wedding day so that the look is still fresh in your mind.

At the end of the session we will discuss timings for the big day incorporating hairstylists and photographer timings too which will ensure everything runs smooth on the day.

What Brands do you use? 

I use a range of High end brands including Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, Urban Decay, NARS, Illamasqua, YSL, Dior, IT Cosmetics, Airbase amongst others.

How many people can you do on the day?

I am usually on location by 7am on a wedding morning (sometimes earlier) to ensure I get everyone done in time.  I usually allow about an hour each and slightly longer for the Bride.  If there are more people requiring makeup than time allows, I can arrange to bring an assistant with me at an additional fee.

Would you advise having a spray tan done before the wedding?

It is fine to have a spray tan before the wedding, but I would advise you always have a trial run first to make sure you are happy with the colour and application.  You don't want to be dealing with any last minute fake tan disasters on your big day!

What Happens on the wedding morning?

I will arrive around 20 minutes before my first client to get myself setup and ready.  I ask that all members of the bridal party are on time and make up free as we are usually running to a pretty tight schedule.

I usually do the Brides's makeup second to last so that it is nice and fresh and there is plenty of time for getting dressed and photos.  Once I have checked everybody's makeup at the end of the session and there is nothing else for me to do, I will then pack up and leave you to enjoy the rest of your day.
